Meghan Marie McClenaghan

i am a sensitive and multi-disciplinary movement educator…

In addition to over twenty years of experience teaching dance and drama to children and adults with varying physical and mental abilities, I have been teaching yoga and restorative movement since I completed 500 hours of advanced yoga teacher training at Octopus Garden Holistic Yoga Centre in 2010.

I am passionate about bringing the benefits of mindful movement to those who might find general public fitness classes inaccessible, and my teaching practice has evolved accordingly.

I have completed additional training in adapting yoga postures for limited mobility, hands-on adjustment techniques, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).

In 2018 I completed an additional 200 hours of professional development with Yoga Detour, with a focus on functional movement and biomechanics.

In addition to teaching my private clients and mindfulness for kids classes, I am currently working with core-based restorative movement coach Riikka Wilson as my mentor.

I have been motivated by my own struggles (and victories!)  with complex-trauma recovery, to deepen my understanding of the incredible resource that our bodies can be with regards to nervous system regulation and self-healing.

I shine my brightest in situations where I am able to create safer spaces for others to explore their own struggles and discover their own victories, particularly through physical awareness and movement.
